Our Story
Forty years of helping Davis seniors take the next step
Having a world-class university in our backyard, it is easy to assume that most local students go to UC Davis. In fact, over 70% attend other four-year universities, community colleges, trade schools, career colleges, or serve in the military.
In 1984, the Davis Chamber established its first scholarship through a $500 essay contest. Today the Foundation awards two $1,000 scholarships each year to graduating Davis seniors pursuing an educational path of any kind. To date, the Foundation has awarded over $40,000 in scholarship funds.
Recipients are announced and celebrated onstage at Celebrate Davis, the Chamber's biggest community event of the year. Our long-term goal is to endow the scholarship so we can grow both the award and the number of students we support.

Eligibility
Who can apply
- A graduating senior at a Davis high school: Davis Senior High, Da Vinci Charter Academy, King High School, Davis School for Independent Study, or Grace Valley Christian Academy
- Home-schooled students registered in the city of Davis
- Planning to continue your education in some form, whether university, community college, trade school, or entrepreneurship
The Foundation reserves the right to verify eligibility with DJUSD for all students applying.
How It Works
Key dates
Opens in January
The scholarship application opens each January. Download it below or request it from the Chamber office.
Submit in spring
Completed application packets are due in the spring. Email yours with “scholarship” in the subject line, or mail it to the Chamber office.
Awarded at Celebrate Davis
Recipients are announced and recognized onstage at Celebrate Davis in May.

How to apply
The application opens each January. When the window is open, request the application from the Chamber, then email your completed packet to bvaughn@davischamber.com with “scholarship” in the subject line, or mail it to Davis Chamber of Commerce, Attn: Scholarship, 1949 5th Street, Suite 101, Davis, CA 95616.
