New Staff Welcome
Welcoming Davis's new teachers and staff
Since the 1960s, Chamber member businesses have welcomed new educators to our school district with a warm Davis welcome.
A Davis Tradition
A warm welcome for the people who teach our kids
Since the 1960s, Davis Chamber member businesses have welcomed new staff to the Davis Joint Unified School District with goodie bags full of local treats, gift cards, and a genuine Davis hello.
It is a simple gesture with a big message: this is a community that values its educators, and a town where local business and local schools look out for one another. New teachers, counselors, and staff arrive each year to find that Davis already has their back.
The Foundation gathers donations from Chamber members each summer, then assembles and delivers the welcome bags in August, just in time for the new school year.

How It Works
From June donations to an August welcome
June: members give
The Foundation invites Chamber members to donate items, gift cards, or funds toward the welcome bags.
Summer: we assemble
Donations are gathered and packed into welcome bags for every new DJUSD staff member.
August: we welcome
Bags are delivered as the school year begins, welcoming new educators to Davis.
How to Contribute
Help fill this year's welcome bags
Only Chamber members can donate to the goodie bags. It gives your business a first chance to connect with new residents in our community, right as they arrive in Davis.
This year, members are invited to help us fill welcome bags for the 80 new hires at DJUSD. Please include your business information in or on your donations, so new staff know who welcomed them.
